CABRILLO COLLEGE, WATSONVILLE, CA
The Cabrillo College Solari Green Technology Center houses the Cabrillo College’s Construction and Energy Management program, which focuses on sustainable construction and building performance practices.

The building was designed to be adaptable to a variety of industrial technology oriented programs, allowing the college to offer classes that are responsive to the needs of local and regional employers. The facility incorporates state-of-the-art, energy saving design features and technologies, including a web-based dashboard that allows the building to be used as a teaching device.

Green design features include:

• Natural ventilation
• Passive solar envelope
• Trombe wall for passive heating
• Solar domestic hot water
• Radiant floors
• Photo-voltaic electric generation
• Displacement ventilation at computer lab

The Solari GreenTechnology Center is the first in Santa Cruz County to be awarded LEED Platinum Certification.
