NORDIC NATURALS WAREHOUSE OFFICE COMPLEX, Watsonville, CA

This New Construction includes Fundamental and Enhanced commissioning services in pursuit of a silver certification.
This project is a warehouse/office complex that will serve as a distribution headquarters. The ventilation system includes two of the first Trane packaged rooftop air handlers with evaporative condensers utilizing cooling towers. Individual thermal comfort zones are provided by variable air volume boxes with heating coils. Minimum heating energy is utilized through decreased supply air temperatures in the internal zones and higher supply air temperatures in the external building zones. Through the use of occupancy and day lighting controls in both the office and warehouse, lighting energy is minimized.

Numerous issues were found and resolved due to the commissioning services that ensured occupant comfort and safety. Adequate and efficient air delivery was verified as part of the air balance verification which resulted in several system adjustments.

• Found all heating coil branch lines were not insulated
• Found numerous discrepancies between submitted controls sequence of operation and design sequence of operation
