This LEED 2.2 New Construction expanded the historical library with a major addition attached to the existing building. The ventilation system utilized wall diffusers and crawlspace duct to maximize the interior design open space. Commissioning services verified numerous control strategies employed in this building to achieve the LEED 2.2 Silver rating. Control strategies commissioned included demand control ventilation, crawlspace air management, and dual duct variable air volume systems.
Adequate and efficient air delivery was verified as part of the air balance audit which resulted in several system adjustments. In addition, Axiom Engineers℠ discovered numerous faulty control issues during the commissioning process. The controls were reset to proper working order, thus assuring occupant comfort and safety.
